Brunswick Full & Half Metric Century

Ride Description:

If you’ve never ridden a full or half metric century, this is a great ride to check one off your bucket list.  The ride originates in the Leland area and meanders through the countryside of Brunswick County.  While there are stops along the way (at 19/42 mile marks), it’s recommended that riders bring drink/fluids and snacks.  With distance choices of 62 and 32 miles, this ride offers something for everyone.

Ride Instructions & Rules:

1. This ride is conducted under the Cape Fear Cyclists COVID ride rules, please review prior to the ride and follow them
2. Please sign the new CFC liability waiver and bring it to the ride.  
3. If you need a ride map, please print out the ride map and bring it to the ride.
4. Please arrive to the ride start location at least 15 minutes prior to the ride start time.
5. Please visit www.capefearcyclists.org and review CFC ride policies.
6. If the temperature at start time is below 32 degrees or there is steady rain, the ride will be canceled.

Ride Parking:

Parking is available in the parking lot north of the event field at Leland Townhall.  Of note, restroom facilities that were once available at this site, are no longer available.

Ride Pace:

The ride offers opportunity for various pace groups.  A Group (fast) riders typically average  +18 mph.  B Group (strong) riders typically average 16-17 mph.  C Group (moderate) riders average 14-15 mph.  If the ride allows there will be a D Group (leisurely) average below 14 mph with a no drop policy.  Because rider safety is the top priority, the ride leader will discuss pace groups in advance of the ride.
