Fort Fisher Boom Ride

_____________________________________________________________________________________

Ride Description:

Join us for a ride to a very special event commemorating Fort Fisher's 160th Anniversary on January 18th, 2025! General admission is FREE, no tickets required for entry.

There are two starting points to accommodate different pace groups:

  • Class A and B Riders: Start at Halyburton Park for a longer, faster-paced ride to Fort Fisher.

  • Class C and D Riders: Start at River Road Park for a shorter, more casual ride to Fort Fisher.

Both groups will regroup at the new Fort Fisher Visitors Center to enjoy the 160th Anniversary celebration of the fort. Highlights include food, reenactments of an earlier time, and the main event—BOOM!! goes the cannon!

After the festivities, all riders will roll out together from the Visitors Center and then separate into pace groups for the return trip.

View these programs below, many of which will be performed by costumed reenactors;

  • Living History and Community Group Displays: Connect with our community and explore details of daily life during the Civil War!

  • Infantry and Artillery Demonstrations: Witness military drills and the firing of the Fort's guns!

Demonstrations to be held at 12:00 PM.
