Brunswick County Health Department Bike Rodeo
Brunswick County Health Department
Bike Rodeo (6/10)
Will be located at Waccamaw Community Park and it will be from 1000 to 1300
If you are interested in volunteering for any of these events, please let Tammy Brown know at
pack219@hotmail.com
phone 910-443-2594
Volunteers may also contact Kitty Cole.
Also, please help spread the word at upcoming rides.
The Bike Rodeos teach children about the importance of wearing a helmet, how to properly wear the helmet, a simple A-B-C quick check of the bike before riding and then riding a course that has been set up with obstacles. The overall goal is a fun and learning experience for children.
It can be a lot of fun helping kids learn to wear a helmet correctly, or follow rules of the road. We only need a few more volunteers at each event to make the work a bit easier for all.
W
e ask for volunteers help with the following:
-registration table to accept people and guide to next station.
-proper helmet fitting and the importance of wearing a helmet. We will provide instruction to the volunteers as to properly wear the helmet and how to properly fit the helmet.
-volunteers on the safety course to monitor traffic signs. Volunteers will be sure the children use hand signals and obey the signs. We will instruct volunteers as to what they should be doing at their location on the course. Volunteers may be asked to be a pedestrian in a crosswalk or to make sure that children do not ride on debris. It is very simple and there is instruction for each request so volunteers know what to do.
-volunteers do not have to commit to the entire event. We ask for any time anyone is willing to help with.
-we ask for volunteers for setting up and breaking down the course which would be picking up cones and signs.
We will start setup at Waccamaw Community Park at 9 am (event 10am-1:00PM). We anticipate 100 kids through this rodeo.
When:
Saturday, June 10, 2023, 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM
